ITV Showcase 2018: Supercharging growth for brands
Last month we hosted our regional Showcase event, where Kelly Williams, Managing Director Commercial at ITV, celebrated how we help ambitious brands create their greatest business impact, highlighting the 11 brands we have partnered with on Love Island as a recent example of this.

Carolyn McCall, ITV's new Chief Executive, was interviewed by Lucy West, Head of Granada News, posing the questions on behalf of advertisers and agencies. Carolyn shared her thoughts since joining ITV in January, about the strength and influence of our programming, and the opportunity that lies ahead, as well as our plans for addressable and digital solutions progress. She also tackled challenging issues such as regulation, and the potential for HFSS advertising to be banned before 9pm - a situation which could create more problems as advertising is pushed online, into an unregulated environment, and more likely to target children directly.
Angela Jain, Managing Director, ITV Studios, talked to Kem Cetinay of Love Island fame and Jungle Queen Scarlett Moffatt about how TV had made them household names and what the power of TV meant to them. Rufus Radcliffe, Group Marketing Director, then spoke of how “we entertain audiences in the millions” and the role that marketing to audiences plays in this. He shared highlights of the Autumn schedule including new dramas Strangers and Butterfly, as well as reminding the audience of the success of the soaps and Good Morning Britain.
Jason Spencer, Business Development Director, talked about how we supercharge growth for brands in lots of different ways from new to TV advertisers right through to big investments in sponsorships, and that those who work closely with us end up with more bespoke partnerships. He also talked about the launch of ITV Business, our new self-serve portal for SMEs to manage their own VOD campaigns on ITV Hub as we look to support small businesses even more innovatively going forward. Our Midlands pilot scheme kicks off this month.
Advertising legend Rory Sutherland, Vice Chairman of Ogilvy, wowed the audience with his keynote speech on innervation – understanding human behavior better to drive innovative ideas… the important role that TV advertising in particular plays in driving growth for brands.
